What Do Meditating And Expressing Gratitude Have In Common?
Do you know that simply expressing gratitude everyday will make you 25% happier?
An impressive stat to say the least!
Now imagine if you incorporate gratitude into your daily meditation practice. Unfortunately I don’t have a statistic for the power of this, but in my opinion your daily appreciation and overall happiness will drastically increase and soar past 25%!
Expressing gratitude and meditating on a daily basis are both extremely powerful and important rituals that I encourage you to incorporate into your day-to-day life. Some people express gratitude in a special gratitude journal while others express gratitude verbally or mentally.
I choose to express gratitude in multiply ways and one of those ways is during my meditation practice!
1. The first thing I do when I turn on my computer every morning is visit www.gratitudelog.com.
It’s an awesome online community where you can express gratitude and appreciation for anything in your life! You can also send special appreciation notes to the people in your life you wish to thank. Definitely check the Gratitude Log site out. It’s a great, positive habit that you can easily do for yourself.
2. I also enjoy expressing gratitude when I’m laying in bed at night. It’s usually when I close my eyes and I still have a few thoughts running through my mind that I choose to direct my attention on the wonderful things of my day. Sometimes I’m grateful for a productive day at work or for eating healthy and going to the gym. Sometimes I’m grateful for my loving family and friends.
3. Last but not least I express gratitude when I meditate. My meditation session isn’t dedicated to solely expressing gratitude, but I find that it’s useful to be grateful for the things I do and don’t have when in my sessions. Now it might sound a bit odd to be grateful for something I don’t have but I know that the meditative state is powerful and if I act like I already have something then my subconscious will believe it and work towards achieving it! Cool, right?
Try incorporating gratitude into your daily routine and remember to express gratitude during your meditation sessions. It’s a great way to “kill two birds with one stone” and work towards conquering your goals and being thankful for what you already have in your life!
