Snoring Ruins Marriage

Snoring can seem like an amusing issue to people who hear about it from others but for those who experience it first and in particular second hand, this comical issue can be the basis of distances and communication gaps between two partners.

Several factors can be behind snoring. Congestion along the throat lining, that hinders air flow or a mass of tissue that protrudes unnaturally blocking the nasal passages. Perhaps, weak muscles in the tongue and throat cause the tongue to fall back into the throat when the person is asleep, again causing the person to snore, since it is due to the vibration of respiratory structures, producing a mild or loud sound that often disturbs the partner.

There are some factors that can lead to snoring. Men are more likely than women to snore. Age, the older you are the more likely to start snoring, since the muscles around the throat tend to weaken, along with obesity. Having weight issues causes loose fat and/or tissue around the throat to block the passages causing the person to snore, while smoking and consumption of alcohol is also related to snoring. Despite the absence of these factors, a person can begin to snore since it could be due to the deformation of the nasal passages as well.

An individual who snores is rarely aware of his/her condition and it is first diagnosed by their spouse or partner, since they?re the ones suffering through sleepless nights. For the snorer, although they sleep soundly through the racket, long interruptions in breathing could result in oxygen deprivation in the blood stream which can be potentially dangerous since deprivation of oxygen can hamper with the normal functioning of vital organs, as is the case with sleep apnea.

Snoring in a majority of cases is treatable without surgery and it should not affect your lifestyle. Treat it today, rather than suffering in your social and personal life.
