New Info About The Immune System

When you have allergies or cancer or just get colds and the flu more than normal, it’s time to pay attention to your immune system health. Each one of these three conditions is a clue to you that you have a weak immune system and you must spend time boosting your immune system.

Another indicator of a weak immune system is a lab test showing low white blood cells. By using natural methods such as those found in natural healing, it is possible to boost the immune system and have good results. Often, if a person has low white blood cells, these levels can be raised in about 30 days.

By reading up on developments in immunology, you can stay abreast of discoveries that will help you improve your health. One amazing report researchers discussed recently is below.

In Drugs Today (Feb. 2010), Italian researchers commented that there has been a dramatic improvement in effectiveness of biologics over the last 10 to 15 years, compared with conventional drugs.

Here’s where it is important for you to know what the term ‘biologics’ means. According to the FDA, the word means “any virus, therapeutic serum, toxin, antitoxin or analogous product applicable to the prevention, treatment or cure of diseases or injuries of man.” It includes products similar to viruses, serums, toxins and antitoxins, and also vaccines, blood and blood components, gene therapy, tissues allergenics, and recombinant therapeutic proteins.

Vitamins, minerals and herbs boost the immune system but are not included in the term biologics in this Italian report. The Italian researchers reported that medical biologics carried serious risks of infection (related to a weak immune system), tumors or cancers (related to a weak immune system) and other complications when these products were used.
