There are no time limits to the accidents that can occur at work places. There are work places where a certain type or types of accidents are more common than others.

Since most of the accidents take place due to the carelessness of the employers, it is highly essential that they take maximum care to minimize their occurrence. It is impossible to entirely eliminate the possibility of accidents as they can happen even after utmost care. However, this does not mean that care should not be taken. The different places at which these accidents can take place include offices, warehouses, construction sites, factories and even shops.

It might be shocking for most of us to know that in the United Kingdom almost a million injuries take place annually at work places. Most of them can be easily avoided, although this does not suggest that employees have been careless in all those cases. The advancements in the attention given to health and safety have not removed the occurrence of accidents. The truth is that work places are potential places of all kinds of accidents, despite the introduction of safety rules.

There are many types of accidents that can occur at your workplace, like there was girl in London in catering service; while waitressing, she suffered serious burn injuries in an accident. Incident happened when she went into the kitchen to collect a plate of food and she slipped. She could not balance herself and knocked a pot of boiling water over her upper body and landed awkwardly on her arm. This is just one example; many other accidents happen daily in hospitals, offices, in field work, in forest (while working).

The accidents at workplace could be greatly reduced if the management is efficient. There are a few important measures that could be taken, which would ensure a reduction in their occurrence. For starters, the managers should identify and make note of all the potential ways through which accidents can occur in their work environment and the employees which are vulnerable to them. After this, the likelihood of each of these accidents should be estimated, and caution against these accidents should be prioritized according to this list. It cannot be emphasized enough that management must take essential steps to reduce the occurrence of accidents and make this task a priority.

Once all the possible ways, through which accidents can occur, are identified, the management should come up with the ways to stop them or counter them. The preventive and protection measures should be taken with the use of a prioritization plan. The nature of each job should be well-known so that it is clear to all the employees as to who does what and when. This allows them to understand the best way in which they could do their job, in the safest and most secure manner possible.

All the measures should be reviewed at regular intervals to ensure that they remain up to date. All the measures have to be revised whenever significant changes occur in the organization, or after the findings of an accident or near miss investigation.
