Disneys Oceans Is An Epic Film
For a powerful and up close and personal look into the life of the ocean and it’s inhabitants, Disneys Oceans is the movie to see. It was released to theaters on Earth Day 2010 by the Disneynature Studio. Disneynature is the same company who released the critically acclaimed movie “Earth” in 2009.
Two men named Jacques directed this movie. Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud shared the same vision and collaborated to create the feature. It was produced by Romain LeGrand who started his career at Disney in 1995 as a financial analyst. Environmentalist and actor known for his roles in the James Bond movies and hit musical “Mama Mia” Pierce Brosnan starred as the narrator. A instant hit song “Make A Wave” was recorded by Disney Channel stars Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato for the soundtrack. The song was written to spark interest in saving the environment, particularly the sea, amongst young fans.
For some it may be surprising to learn that over three fourths of the earths surface is made up of water. Ninety percent of that water is ocean. The film crew dives deep into places that have never before been explored let alone recorded. The amount of footage they amassed with highly advanced equipment gives the audience a thrilling view the entire way through.
The creation of this movie was not something that came easy to the crew. There were two years taken for planning out and preproduction. That was followed by four entire years of on location filming. Over seventy five excursions were made to all over the world, some places so remote they have never been seen before. Over four hundred and eighty hours of footage was recorded. It took the filmmakers nearly a year to whittle down all that footage and into feature film length.
The directors have said that the vision of the film was to answer a simple question. What is an ocean? They want the audience to see that answer up close and personally through this underwater journey. It’s a fragile but ironically strong web of creatures living under in the sea. Exploring it’s depths takes the viewer on a wild ride that won’t easily be forgotten.
They also wanted to show a true depiction of the damage humans have inflicted on this resource. They have shown the devastating effects of certain selfish practices such as over-fishing, over-developing, and pollution. In order to appreciate water, they wanted people to realize that without it, human, plant, and animal life definitely can not be sustained.
They also felt it was important to show how sea life can bounce back after being damaged. They found several remote locations that were clearly inspiring by proving that there is life underwater that refuses to give up. It’s strong and resilient and won’t be destroyed easily.
This movie will take the viewer on a heart warming and thrilling journey. Disneys Oceans is an excellent teaching aid and inspiring movie. The viewer can feel what it’s like to swim alongside dolphins and sharks, study the intricate coral reef, and play with the majestic and endangered polar bears. The high definition footage is bound to leave a lasting impression on all who see it.
No tracks, no wheels, no camera mount, no seat just a dolly. Films Download Their approach toward music is at the same time highly interesting and confusing. What it does leave behind is the chaff of those who have moved on to greener pastures.
