We all experience bouts anixiety in our lives. From airplane rides, to public speaking; many things can cause anxiety. Everyone’s situation, and anxiety, is individual.
Sometimes anxiety can be a good thing. Anxiety is useful,l in that it warns us of the impending presence of danger. Anxiety awakens our senses, keeping us alert, and ready to address unexpected situations. Many of the physical symptoms of anxiety symptoms can make everyday life difficult. This is when anxiety becomes a negative. The effects of anxiety can be counterproductive.
What kind of these are happening physically, at the onset of anxiety? Every situation, and person, will experience anxiety differently. Anxiety can feel like our fight or flight response has taken hold. The physical symptoms of anxiety include the following:
A rapidly pounding heart; attempting to tear from your chest. This is often misinterpreted as cardiac arrest. Excessive perspiration can occur even with a low temperature. Hyperhydrosis (excessive and unpredictable) sweating is a very embarrassing condition.S
Stomachaces and indigestion, are also a common anxiety symptom. When anxious, the stomach increases the production of gastric acid.
Anxiety can also increase the urge to urinate, or even induce the onset of diarrhea.
Hypoxia (shortness of breath) is also associated with anxiety. Hypoxia is one of the most common physical symptoms of anxiety.
You may also feel inexplicable tremors, or other twitches, during an anxiety attack. Your body is responding to the perceived need of protecting itself. As a result, muscle rigidity is also symptom.
A headache can also be a symptom.
Fatigue can also occur when the body experiences anxiety. You may feel weak, and sluggish.
Insomnia can often mark anxiety, as the brain is completely over stimulated.
These represent the most common physical symptoms of anxiety. You may have felt as if anxiety has taken over, but there are ways to combat it.
