Adding Fish Oil To Your Daily Diet For Better Health

My dad started talking to me a couple of weeks back about fish oil. He was telling me that there are all sorts of health advantages if you take fish oil and I thought, GROSS!

My dad is always encouraging me to be healthier, and he comes up with all kinds of suggestions for supplements and diets and exercise. I figured this latest suggestion was just more of the same.

Then, a couple of my friends also started talking about fish oil. I got curious and decided to do some research. Guess what? It turns out my dad is right.

Taking fish oil every day actually can help your health this has been proven by research. Benefits are pretty varied too. Fish oil will reduce your chances of getting heart disease, help you fight depression, help you maintain a healthy weight, and keep y our eyes stronger for longer. That’s some pretty useful stuff!

The oil comes from fish tissues, and contains omega-3 fatty acids. These healthy acids are the reason why researchers recommend that we all take fish oil as part of a healthy diet.

For maximum benefit, take fish oil daily. You can take it in tablet form or liquid form. The liquid form has more of the omega-3 fatty acids per dose, so it is considered a better way to take fish oil. Be sure to refrigerate the oil once you open the bottle if you buy the liquid kind.

You can buy your fish oil in a health food store, like GNC, or grocery stores like Whole Foods. It can be pretty expensive, about $30 per bottle.

If you get the liquid, you are going to have to deal with the taste which isn’t the best. You can get a flavored version, like lemon. If it is too hard to take it straight, try it on a salad or mixed into food to hide the taste.
