The biggest and most notable one being the simple fact that while the film remains very informative it escapes the trap of becoming preachy. This prevented the picture from falling into some of the negative stigmas that are sometimes associated with documentary work.

The film had a decent theatrical run on what is called the art house cinema circuit. Such theaters are the perfect place for cinema enthusiasts to see popular festival films that they would of otherwise missed. The theatrical distribution of this picture was performed by Magnolia pictures, an art house distributor that is ever growing in popularity.

Some film goers might not take the time to consider the fact that so many art house films have went on to achieve great success. Some of theme achieved this by being picked up by major league studio distributors for a successful nation wide run. Others have done this by having quite the after life on cable television networks. Such things have happened time and time again.

By now, you should have a very clear idea whether or not “Countdown to Zero” is the right art house film for you. Because of the advent of digital and online distribution, these smaller films and documentaries are getting a larger home video audience. Let us not forget the type of real light that such films are capable of spreading on some of the most controversial issues facing our society.
